Bike Collection
The first Bicycle Empowerment Center has shipped - the journey to Namibia begins!
Our first bike collection was held on September 29th, 2007. We had a very successful turnout! All day long a steady stream of donors dropped by with their donations of bikes, spare parts and soccer gear! Our amazing volunteers were on hand to greet donors, prep bikes, and load it all on to the container... Members of the FC Capital United Soccer Club were on hand to collect and pack the soccer gear...

The Bicycle Empowerment Center (the container) is now en route to Namibia...! Here's the journey:
- Ottawa to Montreal Oct 1st
- Montreal to Halifax Oct 8th
- Halifax to Haifa, Israel arriving October 25th
- Haifa to Djibouti arriving November 5th
- Djibouti to Durban, South Africa arriving December 9th
- Durban to Walvis Bay, Namibia arriving January 27th 2008

Donate your bike to Bicycles for Humanity, a grass-roots initiative which aims to empower disadvantaged communities in developing countries through the provision of sustainable transport
When: Saturday September 29th, 2007 - 9am to 2pm
Where: 100 Constellation Crescent in Nepean at parking lot "L"

Drop off your donation to be loaded on to a shipping container on site!
BICYCLES! Looking for adult/youth mountain and hybrid bikes in working condition.
No 10-speeds/road-bikes (tires too thin for terrain), small children's bicycles and frames without wheels please.
Bring your bike(s) directly to the collection location!
Soccer equipment! We are also looking to include soccer gear in the container. FC Capital United Soccer Club are the ambassadors for soccer related donations (no used shoes please!).
